urgency

OK so I reset my timing.. and added a bit of that sta-bil brand octane booster because I had some kind of pinging and i had crappy gas in for whatever reason from like april. It was running fine and then now it (barley) idles around 200 and it like chugs and shakes the whole car...if i throttle it it sometimes jumps up and sounds the same up above that but mostly it just dies off....ideas?

and i added small amounts (like litterally 2 or 3 sucks) of seafoam into the ac boost line since that goes directly into all the cylinders through the tube above the fuel rail

figured it would help just the bit since my motor had noticable carbon burnoff in the begning

the plugs arent like...wet...but they seem to have residue on them. I unplugged the injectors and spun the engine with the starter and it sounds absolutly fine...so i dont think anything is phyiscally broken inside....i wonder if theres electronics somewhere or something

ok i'm going to sum this up because it is incrible

so after i stopped wallowing in the 2nd ruined motor i thought about it

i went out and unplugged spark plug 4....nothing at all just cranking. i then unplugged all injectors. ok so i checked all wires all cyls "should be getting spark" but werent.

I took spark plug 3 out and tested it...no good spark. i then cleaned it and it sparked again
on just injector 3 and spark 3 the engine thumped JUST like it did with everything plugged in..

so i basically cleaned every single spark plug with a wire brush and cloth. then ran no injectors and 4 plugs. Put it all back together and car ran...LUMPY but ran...few seconds to heat up and it started letting out the seafoam smoke. its almost out but i dont feel like bothering the neighbors revving in my garage.

in short

SEAFLOOD!!!

I had this issue on my 88 once, the plugs just decided to not work right and I wire brushed them and chucked them back in the car and it ran flawlessly for the rest of the year until I swapped the plugs. They were gapped right just decided to drive me insane that day. I changed the plug leads and did several other things but nothing then cleaned the plugs and it fired straight up. Beats me why they didn't look that bad not even really badly carboned or anything.

Probably bad gas. It's got a shelf-life of less than 6 weeks, now that it's all got alcohol in it. Sort of turns to varnish after a while, leaves a residue that spark won't burn.
