You would think but there is hardly any mk1 left here it took me 6 months to find one for sale and even then i had to pay an arm and a leg for it. i was wondering if the sw20 axles fit i just need the shorter one i think its the driver side in the states.

The driver's side SC axle can use the Camry axle. But not the passenger side.
Many online parts stores will mistakenly list having an SC passenger axle available. However, what they are offering is almost certainly a passenger axle for the N.A. transmission. I ought to know, because I ordered a couple of them. te51levin summed up my take on the situation: search nationwide for a axle specialty shop with a good reputation and ship it off for a rebuild. jackstand: GOBOGO, you can always drop me a pm, if you dont get straight answers, willing to help out. IIRC the short axle can be used from a turbo mk2 because the longer axle uses an intermediate shaft, which the e51 doesn't utilize..... you might also be able to use one from a supercharged corolla... as long as you make sure it's for an e51 box (and if yours has lsd you will need an axle with lsd.... if not, again, not) |

Is the side of the axle that connects to the transmission suppose to be flexible? honestly when it goes on it hits the strut and wont bend down any. |

we sell/reman the S/C axles and the outer CV joint kits as well. we also make MK1.5 swap axles (3sgte or v-6) = have stronger inner CVs we can install as well |

Can't remember where I found it (or if it still is out there, as this was about 6 years ago) but the bearings don't go in exactly how you would think... they're offset from the housing (hard to describe). |

you can keep your 2 a 2.... but using ae92 axles on an MR2 is essentially using an mr2 axle on an mr2... the only difference is the later years the FWD E series boxes had intermediate shafts (which is why the longer shaft doesn't work). Outer splines, inner splines, length, and diameter should be the same. I too go onto the forums in attempts to help. When you put in information stating passenger or driver side and the information doesn't apply (or can be confusing) since there's a variance on which side the driver sits on, then there should be some sort of clarifcation. |

GOBOGO: it does take some work to do but if you set the bearings in place, and set the cap on, you have to sort of pull up on the assembly and the cv boot where it attaches to the bearing side of the axel, and they will sort of "fall" into place. Stand them on the end that goes into the wheels hub, so that the bearing side is up, as the pic is. I put my palms on the end(in red) that the cv boot attaches to, and my fingers on the end (in blue)that attaches back to tranny shaft, and work it up and down, you will notice when they get into place. Then it will be flexible again. I do know what your talking about as when I rebuilt mine, I had that happen to me. It was solid and wouldnt flex.

I think if I see another recent MK I purchaser who has problems related to not knowing the coolant filling procedure . . . . my eyes will pop out of my skull and explode.
I can't take these same problems popping up over and over and over. Lord God Billy Bob . . . I think he done did it . . . put a non Mr2 part in a Mr2. Get the rope . . . lets lynch him good. Dur . . .dur . . . dur. |
