Clutch problems

So my MR2 has been out of commission for a while now because I believe it to be a clutch slave cylinder issue. I was pullin into a drive way when i pushed in my clutch there was a little pop and the clutch droped to the floor. Ever since then there was no play in the clutch and the only way to shift in and out of gears is when the car is turned off. Yesterday I bought a slave cylinder and I am gonna put it on today and hope that is the problem but any extra info on this problem would be much appreciated! thank you!

this is my MR2 Aka Goldie

the slave cyl? when mine died, there was just no pressure. if it just dropped to the floor, maybe it detached from the master? or the master has probs? weird. let us know what fixes it! ^__^

Sounds like your slave cylinder may have hyperextended. I had that happen on an S10, I tried shoving on the clutch pedal (there was no play there) and ended up busting my bellhousing. Replacing the slave cyl should fix it. You'll need 2 people or a Mighty-vac to bleed the clutch, easier with 2 people. If there are any other probs (busted clutch line or master cylinder) you'll find them when you try to bleed the system.

well just found out what the problem was turns out my slave was fine (after replacin it and puttin the new one) still no play in the clutch so and the slave is workin all i can assume now is that the the throw out barring is shot so it looks like i might as well replace it all clutch pressure disc and throw out barring.

if that doesnt work anyone in Southern California want parts lol
