Depends on the condition and how depserate the buyer is.
A really good condition one; with all the clips, decal with no scratches and the plastic shines - could go for around $75-$100. I bought a really nice condition one off eBay for $45. Scale of 1 to 10, this one was a 9. |

They look really good if you paint the bottem of it black. The one on my red car is painted black underneath and it looks so much better than the stock clear color.

Thats a great idea if its really dingy or scratched up looking and the visor does look good with the underside painted in black.
You do lose the highly coveted and admired reflection in the back glass though... ![]() ![]() |

The car is originally from Toyota in Memphis, TN and spent its life moving around in the Southeast from TN, to KY to TN, to VA and then back to TN from what I can tell by carfax. The owner I bought it from was a college student in Murfreesboro,TN who owned it since about 2000 for 6 years and daily drove it and maintained it mechanically but not cosmetically until he blew the head gasket in 2006 and then just let it sit and rot in a car lot for the next two years before I ended up with it in Spring/Summer of 2008. That's another interesting story. The paperwork has many receipts for embroidery of the frunk and trunk liners and letters indicating it was a show car in the mid or early 1990's. The owner had all the upholstery work done by various local mom & pop shops in Memphis. The receipt for the seats, door panels, and inside visors totaled $785. There is a letter of proposal to Performance Toyota of Memphis requesting sponsorship in car shows and apparently received some sponsorship from TRD as well. Which may explain all the TRD badges. When you get a car like this and its that neglected, the first thing you have to do is replace everything. There are MANY enthusiasts and many donor mk1's that contributed to getting the parts for the car to make it where it is now. I just provided the time and money. Just about everything was broken on the car. From the ignition tumbler, frunk/trunk/gas door levers to the plastics on the instrument cluster, to the clock, to the ashtray, the hood emblem, eyebrows, front end damage so headlights would rub up and down, about all blown light bulbs, dome light door switches broken, seat belts broken, glove box, interior plastics, gas door broken, head lamp surround broken, frunk cable broken, gas/trunk levers worn out, power window module, stereo, dome light, door handles, interior door latches worn out, radio surround, door hinges sagged, A/C missing, climate control system broken, visor and ctrim missing, license plate lights missing, exhaust rusted and rotted.... etc you name it and it was probably broken.... there was no attention to most items, let alone any details, but with vision, effort of time and money, and persistence, I have fixed/replaced all those and so many things on it I just have lost track. All the work has been interior and engine/suspension to this point. I haven't even gotten to the body/paint yet. I have some small rust spots in the rear quarters to fix and the entire car to then paint. I am also probably going to replace the front lip with a 87+ lip as mine is a bad bondo job on one corner and rock chips and rust spots on it... plus you can get those 87+ lips from Toyota still. And I may even add the 87+ side skirts to the car... not sure yet.... but as that's a huge expense, and as that's also going to raise my level of concern and worry for the car, so right now I am taking a breather for a good while. Right now, she still looks ok, and I get the benefit of just driving it and enjoying it without the extra worrying about the paint, etc... |

Then on each side there is a bolt hole with a rubber grommet and a bushing on the visor and a little nib below it that sits in the side ctrim to secure it also. The 'nib' has a rubber piece over it too but often times that is missing. You can drill holes for it if you are so inclined if your Ctrim didnt come with the visor holes already drilled. But you do need two LONGER bolts for the top of the ctrim if you dont currently have a visor. I can dig up a pic to better show you if you need one. Let me know. |
