Post Heater hose bypass

I bypassed the heater lines of my '88 SC in an effort to reduce the number of posible air bubbles in the system while trying to cure an overheating problem that came suddenly. The A/C is non operating anyway and in Miami you don't need the heater problem is the car is still overheating. I have tried almost everything. Any other ideas, anybody??!!

Are you losing coolant? Have you done a compression test? pressure test?

My Google Map

pull the t-stat and fill with coolant.... if it overheats then there's another problem (bad rad, clogged pipe, bad WP, or blown HG). If it doesn't overheat... buy a new thermostat and refill it.... do not run all the time without a t-stat unless you're under full throttle at all times (ie racing)

problem solved!!!

My overheating woes are finally over. Just simply went for the simplest thing and replaced the thermostat and cleaned the housing, replaced the radiator bleeder valve o-rings (leaking), bled and ran the car and voila!!! no overheating, fans came on and the universe was at harmony once again and as a final touch also replaced the pressure cap. By the way the heater system is still by-passed for now.
