newbie, needs help too
Hi the all, glad to find this site.
Just bought an MR2, 1985. super nice, well taken care of, everything works great, runs great. I love it... Couple of small problems though. 1. How do you get off that darn oil filter? There are what seems to be oil cooler lines that are in the way so no wrench can get into the tight place to remove the thing. 2. Has an oil leak, seems to be coming from either the oil filter, but more so perhaps the rubber lines that come out off the oil pan. These rubber lines go inside a larger hose or tube about 2 1/2 inches in diameter, but looks like part of the engine coolant system. what the heck is it. Can someone help a newbie |

here is a good site that told me alot about common problems with the cars. I noticed my oil coming out of the distibutar and maybe the oil cooler lines.
check this site out- http://shell.deru.com/~sgn1/AW11/Enginere.htm |

Thanks Mr.twooooo. The link you sent was of great help.
I replaced the oil cooler lines and the "o" ring on the distributer and it cured my oil leaks. |

I went to my local auto parts store and bought the 3/8 hose and 4 clamps, also was able to match up the O-ring. Total costs was under $10.00 and about an hour of my time.
