Angry electrical prob help!

As I was driving down the road (no probs running perfect) the check engine light comes on and my car dies, I try to start it and all I get is the starter turning the engine (not even putering). I checked under the hood and the distributor cap, rotor, and plugs looked burnt so I replaced them and still nothing. Then I tested the distributor, coil, main engine relay, and replaced the ignitor twice and still nothing. As of right now I am at a dead end, I would like to test the computer but dont know how other than puting it in another car (cant do), is there anything im missing or need to test? oh ya also geting engine code 5 & 6...

thanks in advance

"Also getting codes 5 & 6"?

Ummm, maybe that's where your problem is?

Will it try and turn if you spray some starting fluid down the TB?

I know its not the pump, I also tested it using the diagnostics plug.... I pulled off the plug wire and used a screw driver to ground them out and didn't get a spark (ghetto spark tester).

Code 5 = O2 sensor. Ceck and replace as necessary. Not causing your car not to start, but it wouldn't hurt to fix.

Code 6 = No RPM signal. Distributor kicked the bucket, or the wiring to the distributor, coil/ignitor, ECU, all of the above is bad.

I'd highly suggest checking the timing belt.

Actually, that makes perfect sense for another cause of a Code 6.

The 4AGE is a NI motor, but just barley, so if you changed to OS valves or have aftermarket cams I think some durations can make it interference.

But unless you heard some horrible noise I think it should be fine.

Glad it was the timing belt.
