Its been a wile since i posted somethin, but i really need your help guys. On August 4th i was backed into by some douch bag at the gas station. Waited a month, a MONTH for him to finally call in his claim to cover my car (after i filed papers to take his panzy ass to court). They are concidering my car a total loss after he messed up the left hand corner of the bumper and the driver fender. Does anyone know what the average asking price for the late 86-early 87 model is? I just dont want to get burned when it comes time for them to cut me a check.

Hi,
The insurance company will go by there book value of the car. You can go to: www.kbb.com to find out what they may offer you for your car. You may also try: www.nadaguides.com Hope this is helpful. |

Yeah it helps, i already saw the NADA value which is much different than the KBB Value. I mean would it make to ask for the average?

The value of MKI's is VERY dependant on condition and location. I'd argue the worth of my car in relation to the cost of others for sale in your area of similar condition.... unless the book states higher of course

yeah the mk1 n/a isn't worth all that much to the insurance company. but if they let you go by market value I'd say anywhere from 1,000 - 2,500. again condition plays a big roll in the value of the car even though it has a busted bumper. (FYI) there is a 85-86 mr2 na in the newark pick n pull parts yard, it looks to be all there.

Well i guess they are worth alot in my area. Givin the condition and all i wasnt expecting anything more than $1500. They shelled out almost $2300 (i recieved $2100 and got to keep the car) so i think all went well. Im planing on buying this 64 Bug i have had my eye on.
