Hushpower still betta! It's too easy to make custom exhaust for the MR2. Don't waste money on pre-built systems, that is unless it is something like Fujitsubo or HKS... Get on eBay, or Summit racing (same s***) and get yourself a hushpower and the tightest 180º bend they sell, take your old system off, make a few measurements, grab a handy hack saw and cut as necessary, weld 'er up, and your good! I have made something like 3 or 4 exhaust systems for my two's and they all sounded better than pre-fab ones. Not to mention they all cost me under $200 and only took about 3 hours to make!

Thats all this guy is doing, but he isnt doing it for free. Lets see what you put together for $200... got some pics?

edit: and both the BMW and Camry videos posted sound like rice sh!t.

here is an old video of mine... taken using a macbook in the driveway
I am happy with the exhaust, so I guess thats what matters. If you like hushpower, then thats whats important - that it sounds good to you.
If you feel inclined, bash away

Pics are kinda old. Sounds a bit louder than stock, no fart-honda sound. Purrs beautifully at idle, and growls F*****g intense at high RPM's.

There ya go Yellowjacket... Cost me exactly......Hushpower - $100, Thunderbolt cat - $40, 2" 180º - $25, Tip - $10, Hangers - scraps around the shop. I can get more pics on request!

BTW - I don't build things that look, nor sound like rice s**t haha.

Like I said, it sounds great. the muffler isn't the only thing to consider. pipe diameter, number of bends, how tight of bends, exhaust manifold, catalytic converter, are all factors of how it will sound. I would post a sound clip but i've already pulled that system off and replaced it with a new experimental one . My particular system sounded extremely similar to the Bimmer, only deeper and more of an exotic-esque growl.

Many times people make there cars sound like **** due to poorly matched parts.

I've tried many different mufflers from many manufacturers and Flowmaster seems to have there s*** figured out.

+1 for you on the looks. Slick and compact for sure. But as ESP said I would have to hear it... I am sure its acceptable, unlike the bimmer.

So yours was 175 parts only, and I paid $450 shipped for a complete mk1 fitted and tested custom dual exhaust system which also included the downpipe, cat, two resonators and included shipping -- plus knowing the guy on the end has to make some money I think $450 shipped was and is a fair price to buy a full system if you are doing nothing yourself.

Aaron is da man! You could mate up my exhaust to your downpipe though. Easy enough. (of course you would have to buy me drinks first. j/k )
