Cool WTB: Rear aftermarket struts

Hey. Im in need of some new or used rear struts. Aftermarket is greatly prefered. Let me know what you have. Tokico, and Bilstien are high up on my want list.

You didn't say whether you needed the early or late units. They are different. I have some new late model (87-89) Tokico Illuminas that it looks like I won't end up using. They're available for $160, plus shipping. That's a lot less than they sell for.
Bilstein doesn't make stuts for the MKI anymore. I had a set a long time ago and they were nice. Had Bilstein rebuild them though, and they were not the same afterwards. TRD still has a few sets of their rear struts available, and they were made by Bilstein, but you'ld have to have them shipped from Japan($$ & time), and they are not cheap. Also, no one seems to have tried them in quite some time, so don't know how well they work.

Is the difference onl in the length of the strut body? I believe I need 85-86 ones. The part number I was tole to get for the tokico illuminas was BZ-1086. If it's not obvious this isn't actually for a MK1 MR2...

The difference is in their diameter. I believe the late model struts are bigger (wider). I don't recall if they are the same lenghts or not.
