Go buy it Brian. You know you want it. You hoard all the 94's you can get and you know it.

Nice car. One of the few higher priced ones that I think might actually be worth it.

Definitely a sick ride. If it was black I'd be all over it. Black with tan leather is by far my favorite color combo on an mr2. SMG is nice but it is not my favorite. This car is worth every penny though. Someone should buy it for sure. I doubt there will be another one this clean any time soon. I'm sure there's a SMG lover out there who could buy it.

if I had 20 G's , I would buy this thing . I got all Giddy when I saw this . I really feel that this is an mr2 that is well worth the money.
I wish I could get a Window Sticker reprinted for my car . And I don't tlike the looks of the Dash mat but , I like the protection that it gives. |

If i had 20gs, i'd buy something that's not a 11 year old mid-level sports car, no matter how clean it was. Also, with that bra on, the paint under is probably all kinds of messed up.
MR2s cost too damn much for a decent one. |

I got my good condition 93 w/ a gen 3 swap, sportlines, koni yellows and trd sways for 10. I know where to buy a BS prepped 93 hardtop turbo w/ 50k miles on it if i wait a year or so for $12 w/ 3 sets of race wheels/tires and trailer. There's MUCH better stuff to buy for the $ than a stock 94 MR2 with a pretty paint job. Quote:

I ve had a bra on several Mr2's and have not had a problem with the paint. Of course I've removed it and washed underneath. From the looks of this car I would bet this guy took great care and probably did the same. As far as better deals for $20k I see your point in other cars for the money. However this car is for the collector not for someone like you and I who would undoubtedly moleste it with performance mods. There is something to be said about an 11 year old car with 24k on it. I wouldn't buy it with the intention of racing it. It would be more or less to leave it stock driving very few miles. I drive my cars and put way too many miles on them usually 1k per week.

You could also buy a brand new Corolla and have money left over for $20, not to mention a warranty, and the pride of owning a brand new car.
You're right. The cars you listed are available for the prices you mentioned. However, none of those prices are of cars that are basically brand new. They're all sports cars that can be had for that price range and have been around the block a few times. If you want a car that is in near-new condition, has Toyota reliability, and a very capable platform, you can't beat that MR2 for $20,000. Quote:

My friend got a blue 91 NA and when he took the bra off, the paint underneath was either stained black or chipping away. And that's where the paint was still LEFT on it.

And considering that a bank would laugh if you tried to get 20k loan out on a 94 Toyota, you've severly limited your market to cash buyers. And all those cars I listed have pretty much plateu'd on their resale values, so you can turn it over for about what you pay for them. As for that car's value, any decent amount of mileage or cosmetic damage will severly hurt it's value. One of the local MR2 guys paid quite a bit for a low mileage, good cosmetic condition car, but after a freak accident happened to it (simply cosmetic damage), the value's plummeted. I just don't see it as a wise investment, as I doubt that it'll appreciate in value like a Ferrari or old muscle car. And when I said "and $_-$_", I didn't mean that it would go to mods, I meant that it'd go to my pocket. ![]() |

What the hell does a bank know about the value of a car anyway? When have mr2 turbos ever gone for book value. You may as well throw that thing away. I have sold 45 different mr2's and that is no exagerration. None of them has ever gone for even high book value they have always gone for more. This car is definitely worth the money this guy is asking. It may not be to you but it is to someone guaranteed. Old muscle cars and ferrari's are a dime a dozen. You can think what you want about appreciation but If past values of mr2's have any bearing on appreciation then I would definitely say they will appreciate. I have sold clean 91 mr2 turbos for $7500-8000 since 1998. They still go for that. I'm not talking about modded out motor swapped bodykit mr2's either. I'm talking about stock mr2 turbos with average miles. You are probably one of the guys who paid $8000 for your modded mr2 in the last 2 years. Your appreciation for these cars is obviously limited based on your comment about turbo miatas and s2000s. Get a clue. The mr2 turbo you have was designed and built in japan in 89. It was way ahead of it's times then. Unfortunately for our sakes we never saw an mr2 past 95. Most of the major improvements to the mr2 just starting happening about then in Japan. The mr2 still out classes the miata turbo or not as well as the s2000. I guarantee a 97-99 mr2 will spank that honda. Some of us paid $15k or more for our first mr2 turbos. Hell I paid $9000 for my first supercharged mr2 in 1992. You don't have to appreciate this 94 mr2 with 24k. We all know that you are probably the guy who drove a riced out Civic and just happened to get a hold on someone else's mr2. You could always sell your and get an s2000. This is why some of us who've been involved with these cars forever hate knuckleheads like you on the message boards. BTW Miata's aren't worth shit. Ive got one and I can't give it away. For the last three years I've been trying to sell it. I'll trade you for your mr2 since you can't appreciate them.
