FS: 1991 MR-2 GenIII Swapped, Magazine Featured
Vehicle Location: Latham (Albany), NY Vehicle Price: 15,000 Vehicle Odometer: 150,000 It is finally time to bite the bullet and officially put my MR-2 up for sale. It is time to focus on some more important aspect of life (finishing up college) and make sure I can financially do that. I've owned this car for the last 5 years of my life and when I bought it, it was delivered to me as a stock 1991 MR-2 N/A. Everything that has been modified on this car was done in my ownership. Most of the work was done by my friends and I. Besides the paint and bodywork. This car was featured in the Feb. 08 issue of Modified Magazine, has taken home trophies at many high profile shows including Hot Import Nights, Dub Show & Importfest. I do use the car and my best 1/4 mile time to date is a 13.2@100mph. The car is very reliable, could be used as a daily driver but not recomended due to the massive amount of custom body work. But if you buy it you can use it however you want. I had to use it as my daily all summer, and it never let me down. Now on to the details.
Basic info: 1991 MR-2 N/A swapped to GenIII Turbo. Exterior Modifications: •Trust/Greddy Authentic Front Lip (shown upainted because it is brand new due to breaking my last one, will be painted when the car is sold) •Border Side Skirts & Rear Skirts •Aeroware Side Vents •Custom Full Widebody (front widened 1", rear widened 1.75") •Shaved Side Moldings except for the front bumper •JDM One Piece Solid Front Moldings •Shaved Door Handles with Door Poppers •Carbon Fiber Fuel Canards •Carbon Fiber Spoon Style Mirrors on Custom Carbon Fiber Mounting Plates •Carbon Fiber MadPSi Windshield Wiper Cowl •Carbon Fiber T-Tops •Carbon Fiber Bomex Style Side Scoops •Shaved Tail Light Center Panel •Shaved Windshield Squirters •Shaved 3rd Brake Light Surround •JDM Man In Dandsim Rear Windows (All 3 rear windows will go with the car, although only the rear quarter windows are currently installed, they are authentic oem jdm toyota, bronze tint, parking sticker and all) •Shaved Antenna •Shaved Stock spoiler Paint •BMW Steel Grey Metalic Applied to the lower half of the body, and the whole interior of the car. •Toyota Black for the roof and inside the hood, engine bay and trunk Lighting •Projector Headlights (drivers side is cracked but works flawlessly) •8000k HID Kit •JDM Front Clear Directionals w/ L.E.D. Bulbs •JDM 94+ Tail lights, smoked w/ L.E.D. Brake Light Bulbs •L.E.D. License Plate Bulbs •JDM Yellow Insert Fog Lights (not shown, but will come with the car) Interior •Memory Fab S50 Carbon Fiber Racing Bucket Seats •TeamTech Purple 6 Point Racing Harnesses •Slightly Gutted (no rear firewall carpeting, no carpet on the floor, removed all sound deadening) •Black Suede Headliner •Sparco 383 Steering wheel •NRG Short Hub + Spacer •JDM Climate Control •Autometer Dual Guage Pillar Pod w Boost & Water Temp Guage •RX-7 Power FC Commander Mount •Redline Goods Leather Shift & E-Brake Boots •Carbon Fiber Shift Knob •Carbon Fiber E-Brake Handle •Custom Carbon Fiber Guage Cluster Surround to fit 4 Autometer Guages. •OEM Floor Mats & JDM Floor Mats (yes i have a set of floor mats just for show) Audio •Your choice of an Eclipse CD8443 or Alpine CDA-9886 head unit (Pioneer D3 shown) •Eclipse 5.25" Components in front doors that need replacing (if buyer would like I will put in Alpine type s 5.25" 2-ways so u don't listen to blown speakers) •Windshield Mount Antenna Wheels & Tires •Front: JLine Pink Chrome 6rl2 18x9 + 22 with BFGoodrich KDW2 235/35/18 •Rear: Jline Pink Chrome 6rl2 18x10 +6 with BFGoodrich KDW2 265/35/18 •Project Kics R40 Neo-Chro Lug Nuts •APR Extended Wheel Studs (IIRC they were for an IS300) Suspension •93+ JDM Rear Suspension •Buddy Club Racing Spec Coilovers •Carbing Front Strut Bar •Carbing Rear Strut Bar •Carbing Front 2 Point Lower Arm Bar Brakes •Front and Rear Upgraded to 93+ Turbo Sizes •Portifield RS4 Pads •Powerslot Rotors •Earls Stainless Steel Brake Lines Engine & Drivetrain •JDM GenIII Swap •Turbohoses 4" Intake w 6" Airram Adaptor •Custom 2.5" Intercooler Piping •Custom 3" Downpipe •Custom 4" Exhaust w/ Burns Stainless Race Muffler •HKS SSQV W/ Gold Insert •Walboro 255lph Fuel Pump •Competition Clutch Street Series Clutch •Fidanza 9lb Lightweight Flywheel •PWR Aluminum Radiator •Nitrous Xpress Universal Nitrous Kit (Never used, proof, its not even 100% hooked up, needs to be wired, will be done for new owner) •ATS CV-Joint Cage Upgrades Electronics: •Blitz Spec R Dual Solenoid Boost Controller •HKS Type 1 Turbo Timer •Stock GenIII ECU (I want to stress this since the fc commander is pictured, I do not want people to feel mislead) I might be forgetting something, if i am i will update. Price: $15,000 As it sits/described. I Am not very flexible, I believe this is a very fair price for the amount of money into the car. If you don't like the price, I don't care go buy a different car. I'd rather sit on the car then sell it for so little that it wont help me at all. Trades: I am not looking to trade this for another car or truck. I don't know what I want to do for my next vehicle. The only thing i will consider are used motorcyles. 600cc sport bikes specifically. And I don't want something worth more then around 3,000 cause it will be a learning bike for me. So it would be bike+cash on your end. Extras: I have collected a lot of parts for this car that for some reason or another, never made it into the car. If you want to spend a little bit more money and get a lot more, for a price of $18,000 I will include all of these parts, uninstalled. I will not part with these until after the car is sold: •Apex'I Power FC with Commander •Autometer Speedometer, Tachometer, Fuel Level & Volt Gauges •Pioneer AVIC-D3 with the newest map update discs, Ipod Cable, Sirius Interface, Bluetooth Interface (some models came with, some without, this one was without but i purchesed it seperatly) & Remote •Polk Audio PA100.5 5-Channel Amp •Polk Audio MM650.1 6.5" Components •Polk Audio MM 5.25" Components (I do not know the exact model because they havent released them yet, but I am receiving them as soon as they are) •Polk Audio MM1040 DVC 10" Subwoofer •Carbon Fiber Engine Lid Shroud w Dual 10" Spal Fans •Spal Intercooler Fan •Fuel Cell You probably thought I was done, but one last option for you. I know Pink is not for everyone, so if you do not want the JLines I have a set of Volk GT-C Wheels I will give you instead. They are 17x7 in the front with 205/40/17s and 18x10 in the rear with 275/35/18. The rear's need new tires. They are beyond bald. And this means the extended studs and Project Kics lug nuts will come off of the car as the Volks wont fit on them. The Volks are currently gold, I will have them powerdercoated any color you want, and will purchase 1" spacers so the fronts wont be sunk in, as they were on the car when it had a stock front fenders. Contact, If you are serious please E-Mail me at ftl22@nycap.rr.com as i check that more often then I check every forum I am on. Most important part, Pictures: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

How did you go about shaving the sides?

The MR2 looks great, pink wheels and all.
The harness need better reinforcement IMO but it's a great car otherwise. Best of luck with the sale.

if you look closely you will recognize that i'm the one/my car is the photoshop for that. i would love to buy it, but with my car being sold and money being tight i can't spend that money on something i prob wont have for a year at least. oh and i was prob gonna put an apr wing on that trunk depending on how it would look.

the only way to better reinforce them would be to have a cage, which if the car stays in my hands it will come in the future. this is exactly how you are suppose to mount harnesses without a cage. i did a lot of research on it because i can't stand people that miss-mount harnesses.
