1991 Gen3 Racecar
Vehicle Location: Lafayette, La
Vehicle Price: $15,000.00
Vehicle Odometer: xxxxxx

Up for sale is my 1991 MR2 turbo racecar. It is fully caged, freshly rebuilt, finally running perfectly, and now I must sell it.

Fastest lap to date at No Problem Raceway is 1:21.7 on a day where NPR was running 1 sec slower than usual. It is classed for GTO right now and the car is a contender even on the relatively skinny (to the others in the class) tires. Other competition include Vipers, Corvettes, Trans-Ams etc...and I run right with them.

1/4 Mile time at only 15 psi is 12.1 @ 110 mph and I could have gone FASTER! Car has only 3 1/4 mile passes and I only did that to see what it would run.

Weight is 2293 lbs...actually may have lost a little since corner weighting.

The car has the following:

Engine / Drivetrain:
Gen3 3SGTE engine from Japan. This motor was never offered here in the USA and has a revised block, head, crank, turbo, oil pan, transmission, injectors, fuel rail, intake manifold, etc...it is the toughest 3SGTE ever made. I rebuilt the motor myself and it has the following parts in it:
Wiseco Forged .020" overbore pistons
Clevite 77 bearings
ARP Head studs
ATS Valvesprings (ready for big cams for easy swap).
CT20B turbo (capable of 300 rwhp at 18 psi)
It doesn't even have 100 miles on the rebuild - It runs PERFECTLY
Gen 3 Japanese transmission w/LSD and closer gearset (japan only)
Hardened (chromoly) axle cages for CV shafts (brand new)
TRD clutch
XACT prolite flywheel
Polyurethane engine mounts
Apexi Power FC fully programmable ECU w/ electronic boost control solenoid and Remote commander (handheld tuner / programmer)
EBAY intercooler kit (XS POWER?)
SPAL fan and BERK shroud for intercooler
HKS SSQBOV
3" intake / air filter
AEM UEGO Wideband sensor and gauge
3" SS downpipe, 2.5" short exit exhaust

Suspension:
Tein SS coilovers w/ pillowball top mounts
ST sway bars front and rear with reinforcing plates
spherical ended end links
Goodridge SS brake lines
Porterfield R4E brake pads
Polyurethane bushings in ALL connections
3rd gen RX-7 rear wheels (16 x8 and SUPERLITE) 255 Hankook Z214
Ford Mustang 16 x 7.5" front wheels 225 Hankook Z214

Misc:
Cage and window net freshly installed / built / and teched for GBRS.
Brand new windshield (2 races on it)
Converted windshield wiper to single blade
Gutted complete dash / harness / etc for racing only
autogauge 5" tach
autometer oil pressure and water temp gauges
Upgraded fuel pump
removed heater hoses and bypassed
Removed A/C and bypassed
But hood for more aero and ducted radiator flow
Front air dam (home depot racing, but hey it works)
Adjustable rear wing
Lexan rear window
Lexan headlight replacements
Fiberglass homemade T tops, Engine lid, and trunk lid

Runs on 13 psi ALL day with no issues whatsoever and ran right in mid-pack of GTO cars.

This car is ready to race immediately and is for sale for EXACTLY the amount of money I have in parts alone (huge loss on hours of my life here).

Car only has 2 races (25 min sessions), and 3 lapping sessions on it. It is PERFECTLY READY TO RACE...no changes needed and everything is fresh.

All that work, just to sell it? Dang, that's a shame.

yeah...

tell me about it!

If I don't get any reasonable bites I might have to part out the car, so if anyone is interested in Drivetrain let me know. This setup makes GOOD power right now.
