Black 91 Turbo MR2 with mods for parts or repair
Vehicle Location: Sunnyvale, CA
Vehicle Price: $1000
Vehicle Odometer: 236413

I'm selling my lightly modded black 91 Turbo MR2 with
T-Tops for parts, along with additional spare parts.

My MR2 died almost two years ago (overheated, it's a
sad long story). I've toyed with the idea of restoring it,
as I really like driving it, but instead, I got a new toy
(Lotus Elise). So, it's time for someone to take all the
good parts off this car or restore it. The engine barely
starts and runs, but it won't travel on it's own. You'll
need to tow it. There is a coolant leak (a hose under the
exhaust header melted, I think) and weak compression in
at least 1 cylinder, iirc. If you want to restore it, it will
need a new paint job, as the black has lots of chips in it.

BTW, the engine in it only has 100K on it, as I replaced
the engine after it destroyed itself at the track when it
had 130K miles on it.

More pictures of the car are here:

The mods on the car are:

1. 93 limited slip transmission

2. Tokiko Illumina adjustable shocks

3. Eibach springs

4. Suspension techniques front anti-sway bar,
with stronger endlinks, beefed up brackets on
the strut tower, and steel plate welded to the
body where the u-brackets bolt on. That sway
bar really helps make it corner oh so nice, but
it took quite a while to get all the other parts
beefed up to handle it.

5. Front camber kit to allow -2.5 degrees of camber.
Makes track days oh so fun.

7. Short shift kit. I dunno if I still have the installation
instructions. I'll have to look.

8. Replacement headlamps which take H4 bulbs.

9. Both cats cored out (for track days only, of course).

I also bought an MR2 for parts several years ago. Some
parts from it went on my MR2 (the 93 limited slip tranny
for one). After swapping parts, and taking spares from it,
I sent that MR2 away (the body was in really poor shape),
but I have all these extra parts:

1. An extra set of stock rims, with Toyo T1R tires on them.

2. Muffler. 3rd party, I think.

3. Exhaust pipe (from the big cat to the muffler)

4. Air flow meter

5. Used Sebring Tuning air filter

6. Main catalytic converter. It is kinda plugged up, so it is
a great candidate for removing the honeycomb and
making a high flowing pipe for a track car.

7. Some after market high performance head gasket
someone gave me. Never installed it.

8. Intake pipe with blowoff valve installed.

9. New, high performance intercooler cooling fan, never
installed. I think I got it from MR2 Performance
Products.

10. Stock intercooler.

11. Transmission, condition unknown. It's in a nice box
though!

12. The original 91 transmission from my car. It doesn't go
into reverse.

13. 3S-GTE engine. It's been sitting in my backyard for a
few years. You don't have to take it if you don't want it.

14. Spare stock AM/FM/CD/Cassette stereo, with amp and
subwoofer amp, and spare replacement subwoofer
speaker.

15. Lots of other extra parts (switches, headlamps, shifter
cables, brake pads, etc).

Please send me an e-mail if you're interested.
I set my profile to allow e-mail. If you have problems,
post a reply and I'll post my e-mail address.

Only $1000 for everything!

Thanks!

Well, that was fast. I had also put the car up on craigslist,
and it sold this morning. I'll miss it, it was a great track car.
But I think I'll enjoy the Lotus on the track even more. :-)
