yes it should. It should also intersect there regardless if it measured in speed or rpms.
another thing this car should make way more power before you get to this point of intersection and it def should make more than 200 hp before this intersection I don't think this is a dyno graph of a mr2. |

It would make way more power if the owner used a different turbo, instead he chose to use a cheap lag monster that should've been revved out higher to justify the lag with more top end. Considering he's not making 200 ftlbs of torque until nearly 5800 rpms, it's simply not going to make more power down low. |

its already rev'ing to 8k, i don't wanna take it much further on stock stuff. as for the car, if it doesn't end up selling I'm gonna change a few things on it and break 500whp.
as for calling it a "cheap" turbo, i wouldn't go that far. Its a quality precision unit and i chose not to spend double the cost for a dbb turbo. the nice thing is that i keep traction in any gear which i know with a dbb and/or slightly smaller turbo i'd be screwed for. |

eh yea i guess you are right i got to thinking about it more and more after i said that. i went out and drove my car this morning and the rpm is really close at 65. i should have held my tongue before questioning. i ended up looking like an ass on this one.

I'm sure Billy has perfected them over the last decade which is good new's, mine needed some mod's to fit the Garrett T4/T3 I bought to go with it but hey I'm not complaining. Good peep's he is and I would rather deal with them and minor issue's than the other's.

I agree with you 100% most people also lack the ability and skill to build an engine up with out using a turbo or some other forced induction method. For instance I have been in the NA forum for a little while reading how almost everyone says a 5SFE making 200BHP in NA is impossible, but after a little bit of research I posted a list of mods which should easily build the 5SFE to at least 200BHP without use of any forced induction everything from pistons, cams, ECU remapping to a revamped intake and exhaust system. Its just that most people would rather do the easiest thing and follow what everyone else has already done like slap a bigger turbo on a engine or some other random bolt ons.
Most people are skeptical and or jealous when someone else is able to achieve something that they couldn't. I have seen MR2 pushing over 800 BHP with a single turbo and no NOS. Don't let them get to you. |

I know I agree, I don't follow what other people do, my dad used to rebuild engines and my cousin builds pro street dragster engines so I've got some knowledge under my belt as far as getting power from engines with using forced induction of any kind. The problem is most people are stuck in this whole (fast and furious) frame of mind where they think everything has to be turbo'd and or they think simple bolt ons with out modifying the engine itself will be enough to compete when normally with bolt ons all they do is put a bigger turbo on a stock engine and increase the spool time because the engine doesn't have as easy of a time spooling the bigger turbo.
Either way I have learned most of the most impressive stuff that has been done with MR2's never makes it tot he forums at all. A friend of mine is a racing instructor and was telling me that he has seen people get over 1000BHP from the 3SGTE at the drag strips. The bottom line is, hardly any one knows how to tune an engine these days, they look at a turbo or super charger as a simple solution, which is just pathetic. Especially in this day and age when we have access to crucial upgrades all over the place and people only buy turbos. Good talk man. |

Yes I agree that there are alot of people who say this or that is not achieveable but those people are only ignorant ie mis-informed, they should NOT be referred to as _ _ _ _ _ _. Your speaking directly with one of the first member's ( a member since '97 if you must know) of the MROC that wanted to achieve the glorified goal of having the first 3SGTE to make 1000hp and now that HUX Racing has achieved that goal was I out of my mind? No simply because I believed in the 3SGTE and realized it's potential.
Dont turn this forum into another CivicSi hump with disrespectful commentary or allegation's such as that. I drove MR2's for 21yr's, possibly longer than you have been alive, so I think I know what I'm talking about, dont you? tex |
