LoveHorsepower's 1991 MR2 Turbo For Sale - AEM, New Block & Head
Vehicle Location: Sterling Virginia Vehicle Price: 7800.00 Vehicle Odometer: 174,000 Well - it's been an incredible journey with this MR2 turbo for the past 14 years, but it's time to move on.
--------------------------- I have been the owner of this car since January of 1996. The car has always been garage kept, waxed regularly, and the oil religiously changed with Mobil 1 synthetic. The engine block and head are new from Toyota, were properly broken in, and it doesn't burn any oil. There is no rust. Coolant and transmission fluid changed once a year - Redline MT90 in the transaxle. Mileage 174k. The following parts have less than 10,000 miles on them: * New engine block from Toyota - includes new crank, pistons, bearings and rings. * New head from Toyota. * New HKS 264 intake and exhaust camshafts. * New Fidanza adjustable cam gears on the intake and exhaust HKS cams. * TRD Head gasket, new Toyota head bolts, new engine gaskets, o-rings etc.. * New Ferrea exhaust valves. * Clutchmaters FX300 Clutch. * New tires all around (215/40 R17s in front and 235/40 R17s on the rear). Modifications: * Fully tuned, programable AEM engine management system (replaces stock engine computer). * Innovative motorsports wideband O2 system (integrated with AEM) for complete fuel control. * GM 3 bar MAP sensor integrated with AEM - replaces the stock flow meter (although it is still installed). * Autolab's Level 2 Turbo Kit - includes manifold, T3/T4 50 trim water cooled Garrett turbocharger, Tial wastegate, down pipe and wastegate exhaust section with flex pipe. AutoLab Level 2 Turbo Kit Installation * Greddy Intercooler. * Fuel injectors from the MKIV Twin Turbo Supra (540cc/min). Removal of MR2 Fuel Injectors * Lovehorsepower regulator kit (Aeromotive regulator). LoveHorsepower MR2 Turbo Regulator Kit Installation * Walbro fuel pump. Removal of Fuel Pump on the MR2 * MSD 6A Multi-Spark Ignition. * Apexi AVC-R electronic boost controller with new solenoid. * Apexi AFC - installed, but not in use. * Blitz blow off valve. * Spal fan on engine lid. * K&N FIPK intake. Suspension: * KYB AGX adjustable struts. Replacement of Struts on the MR2 * Eibach springs. * Kirkosaurus Motor Mounts. Kirkosaurus Motor Mount Inserts * Custom rear lower braces. * Custom front brace. * Brake rotors were replaced in the past 2 years - ceramic pads have lots of life left. Brakes were bled at regular interval, pedal has nice firm feel and easily engages the ABS. Interior: * Oil temperature and EGT on A-pillar. EGT is currently not connected, although the ports are available in the exhaust header. * Water injection controls (solenoids now controlled by the engine management system). * Innovative O2 sensor controls and data log port. * SPAL fan switch. * AVC-R on steering column. * AFC above ash tray. This is installed, and connected, but does not adjust fuel as that is controlled by the engine management (AEM). * Water Injection solenoid and pump LEDs on A-Pillar. * Greddy Turbo Timer - always used and set to 1 minute. The car does have a salvage title. I believed an SUV was coming into my lane, I swerved to avoid hitting it, and drove off the road over some large rocks. This scratched the wheels enough that the insurance company wanted to replace them. The expensive wheels plus changing the front cover (plus paint and fog lights) was enough to push them to the salvage title. The wheels are still balanced and round - it doesn't pull to any side or have any vibration or steering wheel shake. The A/C currently doesn't work, but I believe it may just need to be recharged. The stereo power antenna does not work. The car is an absolute blast to drive, ultra reliable, with huge top end power even at just 15psi of boost from the T3/T4 turbocharger. The engine is putting out at least 270HP and 215ft-lbs of torque to the rear wheels, and with the new engine block, head, and AEM engine management system the potential of this car is extreme! Here is dyno data from 2007: Dyno Day 2007 Since this dyno test was performed, the new engine/head, cams, cam gears etc. has been installed, and the engine management system fully tuned. I have been tuning this management system for over a year, and you will be very pleased with the current state in all driving conditions. This car is an excellent daily driver that can also be used for auto crossing and road courses. Own the LoveHorsepower MR2 Turbo! Come by for a test drive! $5400.00 Joe Obernberger 703-827-3786 703-421-2629 joeo@lovehorsepower.com ***** CLICK HERE FOR MORE PICTURES ***** ![]() Joe Obernberger 703-827-3786 703-421-2629 Last edited by joeo; 08-16-2009 at 10:10 AM.. |

Just a quick question for ya? The pic's show that your still running the stock AFM, the AEM did not convert the engine to MAP or was that an option you surpassed?
Good luck and that is one clean MR2 ,tex |

It is using a GM 3 bar MAP sensor. The AFM is still in place for the intake air temperature sensor - that's it. In fact, you can remove the intake air temp sensor from the AFM and place it elsewhere, or just pick up a GM version.
I'm just using the AFM since the air filter I have connects to it. -Joe Do you Love Horsepower? |
