Toyota 1993 MR2 Turbo Teal (Turquoise Pearl), Rare. Mint condition in/out, 5-speed, Limited Slip Diff,T-Bar, power, leather all-opts, 82K original mi. Garage kept, no winter driving. Serviced/maintained only by Toyota. 2.0L 220hp 3S-GTE engine, never redlined/raced. No rust/dents/scratches.

I am the cars second owner and have been for the last 14 years.

• I bought it with 47,XXX miles and have meticulously kept it in pristine condition.
• Most of the miles are ‘highway’ miles. This is actually a fantastic car for everyday use.

Ride

Mechanical

• Only one issue that I’ve ever found with the car:
  There is a slight high-pitched whistle sound after the engine has warmed up. Toyota identified the whistle as coming from the vacuum diaphragm. Toyota techs did not see any reason to have this fixed and recommended not to. This does not pose any performance issues, it’s just causes a whistling sound.

• All service records & receipts for all service work performed by Toyota, no third party mechanics have every worked on this car.

2002
• Re-surfaced Front Brake Pads and Resurfaced Rotors (F&R), Cleaned Calipers

• New Toyota A/C system installed - CFC Free unit *Blows super COLD! (May 2008)
• New Positive Battery Terminal & Cable installed (September 2008)
• Oil, Lube and Filter change (September 2008) @ 81,295K

Other

• It is in collector’s condition and that will be a collector’s classic and has the potential to win best of show prizes in the years ahead.
• Unlike other MR-2s that have been modified, still has a fully functioning Air-Bag. I would never sacrifice a safety feature for higher performance. Also, with the highly desirable and rare Limited Slip Differential the car will not fish tail or lose traction, unlike many other MR-2’s without.
• Experienced drivers preferred. A lot of young people have gotten in over their heads and crashed their MR2 Turbos. It would be a terrible loss to have this car get destroyed. The car is very responsive and controllable at its limits but still demands much more driver competence than a front engine car.
• Please don’t even think about this car if you plan on driving it through winters! Even if you wanted to it is not suited to it, the rearward weight bias and low clearance would make it useless in snow and ice and the huge coolant capacity would take forever to reach operating temperature in negative temperatures.
• MR-2 Turbos require a minimum of 1-3 minutes of cooling down before turning off the engine.

Price

Not cheap, but realistic for a car in this condition. I routinely see high mileage, 91-93 MR2 Turbos in worse condition selling for less. A 93 Turbo (of which only a small number were sold in the USA). MR2s in this condition with such low mileage with leather, T-Tops, and Limited Slip are EXTREMELY rare and seldom ever are for sale.
