Automatic to a manual???
I've found a couple NA mkIIs in my area with bad engines, but everything else is fine. I'm going to swap the engine anyway, so I don't care about the bad mills, but one is definately an auto & I'm waiting to hear on the other. I'm either going to drop in a 3rd gen or a V6, & a manual case. How difficult is it to convert the rest of the car to a manual?
On my 94 BMW 740 it's a bolt in modification, expensive but easy! how is it on the MR-2? ![]() |

aside from the pedals and shifter assembly the hard part to get is the hardline that goes under the body. it's too big to ship so unless your near a local whos parting out your out of luck. it's possible to get it from toyota...

i did write a sticky on this very subject
![]() theres a really really good chance you can install the hardline without dropping the tank. if you dont drop the tank, its an easy swap.. marginally more work than a transmission swap alone.

Cool, Are any of the needed parts shared with more common Toyotas? & what is the "hard line", just the cable/rod shifting system, or something larger?

I believe it was obsolete, when I checked.
