HOLY C$%&!!!!

So I go to do a 2-3 upshift on my way home yesterday and I feel something give.... I let out the clutch... and I'm still in second. After a long limp home doing 45mph in second gear, I do some inspecting and verify the shifter cable is indeed broken. I searched all over the internet and couldn't find one. So, since it is a daily driver and I don't want to put the miles on my Grand Cherokee, I head to the dealer. $260 later i'm wondering is it me or is that expensive as S#!% for a shift cable? A well... it's only money.

Atleast you broke the cable in 2nd and not 1st gear or 5th!

I paid $326 after tax for my cable a couple of weeks ago. I had to install it myself.

Yeah.. at least I can install it myself... I feel bad for the people that have to pay labor on top of the $260. I guess I should also be happy they were not on back order for 3 months, or worse... discontinued.

Shouldn't it be the other way around? Haha. That does sound expensive for a cable.
