possibility of supercharger
as the title says i am asking whether it is feasible to supercharge a 3sge and whats needed for it to be safe.
and has anyone ever done supercharging on an mk2?

how much money do you have?
there are probably a few supercharged 3sge's out there. it will most likely be a custom job and must be tuned properly to prevent blowing up the engine. probably have to replace rods and pistons for anything but low boost applications...also have to deal with the high compression of the 3sge.
on the other board there is a guy(medpilot) currently putting together a twin screw supercharger kit for the 5sfe and 3sge. i've also got in contact with a guy who makes supercharger kits for the 4age and he has said he is interested in possibly making a kit for my beams 3sge.

hey, thanks for the reply.
money is only time needed to save up
would a 3sgte engine be a good candidate for supercharging?
as in if i find a 3sgte with a blown turbo essentially making it a low comp 3sge?
and twin screw, that's the type with the "whine" from it? sounds so cool

yes, a healthy 3sgte engine would probably be the best candidate out of the box to take some boost. I'm not sure if that distinctive whine sound is only with twin screw superchargers...i think i've heard centrifugal make that sound too. twin screw, i'm told, are the most efficient, create less heat and probably provide the best low end response.

Not A VR6
twin screw whine far less then cintrifugal blowers...
a guy at my shop has a 5.0 strip stang with a cintrufugal blower and it whines like a B
i personaly dont like the whine.
i gave up buying a corrado SC just cus i couldnt stand the whine.. it gets old after the first few weeks VR6 is the way to go with those..

quick and informative replies, i thank you for that.
is my 2.gen 3sge block the same as the 2.gen gte one, and i could just swap internals and be good to go? or would i need anything more.
if more is needed, please gimme a rough list of what, apart from turbo internals.
i am new to the tuning part of cars, but not new to appreciating cars, my 2 almost got sold, but i changed my mind and wont sell it.
part reason was the insurance, wicked expensive for a 23 year old man with only 2 prior years of car ownership, and this is in Norway, one of the most expensive countries to own a car... all sorted now tho.
