if SAFC sucks, what r my options?
I bought a apex safc and i keep reading about how i do not want to use it on my mr2. what r my other tuning options? have still have stock injectors but iv seen dyno charts of people just tunning their computers and getting good gains... i think ATS has a good deal for there ecu replacement (500 bucks with core charge or something). any opinions would be helpful.
I really dont want to spend thousands for a stand alone, but... |

on stock 440cc injectors the stock ecu is all you need, instead spend the money on a better turbo, intake and intercooler kit.

ATS does have a good deal on re-tuning your ECU specific to the mods you have. Plus they have the dual map tune for pump and race gas. But the downside is if you ever make changes to your set up (i.e. turbo, intercooler, exhaust, dp, etc.) you will have to get it tuned again.
Please let us know what mods do you currently have and what your plans/goals are. |

current mods:
greddy td06 greddy intercooler ats ext wastegate tworus manual boost controller tko 3" exhaust rps clutch hks flywheel my goals right now are to touch 12's in the quarter mile. I'm using the stock block and head right now, but I have a second motor that I have bored 20 over and the head has a good deal of work done to it. so eventually i was gonna get 550cc injectors... maybe bigger... but for right now, those are my mods than I'm tunning with. |

With anything higher though, I think you should update the fuel system and go with a full EMS with what you have. Aftermarket Piggybacks are okay, but you will see a full benefit if you go with an EMS. An EMS though is more money, and the tuning is a ton more money, but I think where your at already, you will only see more HP and a good running engine with one. |
