MR2 fuel pump question

ok so i haven't quite bought my MR2 yet, I was just about to but i need to ask a question first.

The guy with the MR2 i'm buyin from says that it needs a fuel filter and that at slow speeds sometime it'll feel like it misses or something cause it's not getting the fuel right.

and says it'll idle rough cause of it.

SO THE QUESTION IS: does that make any sense to you guys? do the equations in that scenario add up, because when your speakin of fuel injected muscle cars normally a fuel filter will not cause that much trouble.

so assuming that his filter is clocked and has a used condom blown up in the center of it. would it cause the car to fire like that?

If fuel flow is restricted, you will have problems at high rpm, not low RPM.

The guy is bullshitting you.

It has something else wrong with it. Plugs? Wires? Cap? Rotor? O2 sensor? I'd check there first.

sounds more like timing...if its off a lil bit then low end will be crap and hardly be able to tell high end...but only if its slightly off, otherwise it wont run at all or like a dying giraffe

well see when i hat fuel flow issues in my camaro it was at low rpms. considering that when you floor it, it tells the computer to pump fuel harder don't you think it would make more sense that it could bust through a flow blockage when it's being pushed harder?

and it runs it doesn't die out if you leave it idle for a while.
it drives fine for the most part just has that issue.
