using 94+ harness will leave you with 1 parking light on both sides. both will light up when you break. 91-93 harness w/ 94 tail lights ![]() 94+ harness ![]() Quote:
you can splice/rewire bulbs to be used as reverse lights and place them where ever you like. Some people have bought a small led strip wired it to reverse and placed it above the license plate. You can also buy Ben's center panel Badges that light up and wire them to reverse or if you are very technical have a switch board, where when you reverse it will light up white, and when you are in park/drive it'll go to w/e color you would like. i have thought of the idea of trying to make it look like corvettes where there's two bulbs around the license plate. this would be most clean look i would think, but i haven't gotten around to it. it would be easier if i had a Euro back bumper, so that i would have space for the lights to go on the side. ![]() Ben's kit GI: Illuminated Rear Name Plate Last edited by datguydeni; 09-15-2009 at 06:09 PM. |

i was thinking of getting Bens plate, but i was just wondering if it would be legal to just have the MR2 badge light up white, and legally be called a reverse light.

As long as it's white and bright enough i don't see a problem with it.
I'm still reversing without any light back there. you can also do what xb has a single bulb ![]() or 08 vette reverse ![]() |

i never noticed that xB's only have that one light. if they only have that one light right there. i don't see why the name plate couldn't be a reverse light then.

I have the euro spec car. So there is only one parking light and one braking light. The inner lights work only as rear fog lights. So I have to rewire the lights to get the double set of lights anyway. If both US and Japanese tailights take the bulb holders for the standard 5w\21 bulbs, in both the inner and outer light, it really doesnt matter which light i choose. |

Not a big difference between jap\us in other words?
Since I'm rebuliding my tail lights and car is a euro version with only one parking light and one brake light per tail light, i need to rewire the harness anyway. I also wonder if anyone knows where to get hold of clear lenses for the amber section of the 94+ tail light? I found these pics in another post in here. post: How to: De-Amber your tail lights! personally i dont think that euro light match with mr2, you loose that original, and does look a bit pimped. same as those gen 6 rears from rogue.
best light still the JDM 94-99 lights, however the orange indicator is a bit outdated. i seen someones rear profassionally tint, actaully turns out very nice. ![]() |

Wolfie?
Have you ever tryed to paint those clear repeaaters red from the inside? Or know someone who have tried it? It would be interesting to se if they become red, or if they still have parts that have the clear color, after painting. If they look red after painting, I'm strongly considering those clear repaters. But I want to se the result before I buy, as they are a bit pricey... |

Short answer is no......but I do smoke tint spray the inside of a number of other products including the JDM side repeaters. I hope you'll agree, they're a pretty good match for the aftermarket fronts. I did these as a special one off for an Aussie guy
![]() In principle, I see no problem doing the same with red on the rear lens as well, but it does add yet another stage to the process - I'd still mave to mask and smoke tint the edges. HOWEVER....as far as I'm aware, there is only one colour red of this product I can find in the U.K. You can adjust the shade by the number and weight of coats you apply, but you can't alter the hue. I have some reservations as to whether if even if you get the right shade, would it still view as amber enough with the bulb on? |
