Don't know why, but I was looking to buy a Subaru SVX. I find the car attractive in a weird sort way. It does look a bit odd.

I'm having to decide this right now. Everyone is telling me to sell mine and buy a better one. So right now I'm asking $4500 cash in hopes that I can get atleast 4K at my dad's used car lot. I bought it for 2K and put in a little over $500, but I owe 1K right now. So I would need atleast 3K to get a decent NA gen1 MKII. But maybe this time with a 5spd and T-Tops! I don't honestly think it's worth $4500, but a lot of people ask about it because I keep it in my dad's dealer. And I'm in no rush at all to sell it. But for 10K I would get a 93T.

Why are people telling you to sell it?

People kept on telling me to sell my old car, and not to have bought it in the first place, then they were all sad when i got rid of it.

Actually, i think my dad was absolutely crushed.

Dude, there's a black 91 NA 5 SPD with t-tops in Spring Hill for about $1,700, says it needs work though. I'm sure you can chew him down a bit if you tried.

Well first of all it's an automatic, which is enough reason for me to want to sell it. Secondly it's a hardtop, which I know is pretty rare, but I'm going for an all out "fun" car. So a hardtop doesn't cut it. I know it's a pretty rare one and I would keep it if I could, but I need the money. Plus almost no one really knows much about it so they might overpay. I think about 4 people go to my dad's dealer a week asking how much I want for it. Which is a lot when people are so strapped for money. In comparison, any other car in the lot has about 1 person show interest in it every other week.

I saw that, but I'm not sure if I'm ready to go into a project like that. I might give it a shot and see what my dad says. It would be really fun though.

I just called the guy with that black "project". He said a few others have called, but no one is really interested. So if I sell mine for 3500, I could try to buy it for 1500, then I have 2k to fix it.

Well I asked him and he said there will always be other MR2s like this, and I can wait. And right now we're thinking about how much to ask for it. Right now it's 4500 cash. I know it's not worth that much. I'm probably willing to go down to 3500 if there's another MR2 I can get pretty cheap. The main thing he said is that I have to have enough money to fix it, and then resell it. Of course my dad is just thinking about not taking a loss, and being able to resell it for enough profit. Not surprising.

My friend that came with me to drop off my old car (it was a straight across trade for the mr2) asked about it, and so did i actually.

But it was his wife's car...
