Could be a bad 1/4 driver, plus I don't know the HP/TQ output.

No, I think unless your autoxing and need a broad powerband, turbocharger>supercharger is most all forms of racing. Thats why all that and you only get a 13.8

Thats why 'all that' what? You don't even know the specs of the car! A turbo has a higher peak output possibility vs a Supercharger, but the Supercharger has lots of benefits as well. Personally I would love to have a SC MK2, I would take one over a Turbo any day!

Read up on top dragsters
S/C is an amazing way to get some power too...13.8 could mean a lot of things!

but to me that setup is ghetto being outside the engine bay....but badass at the same time!

The 13.8 means nothing. Now 116mph means something. With that trap speed he should be deep in the 12's. Actually, quite possibly high 11's. It was either a typo like 12.8@116 OR 13.8@106mph. To get 116mph trap speed and run a high 13 means a 2.5 60' and crappy shifting. If the mph is correct, then that car is very fast.

I like the concept but holy crap that thing is ugly. There are a million other ways to adapt a supercharger into an N/A mr2 that would be much cleaner. The thing looks like Crap IMO. To each their own I guess. Superchargers are great though. They create far less heat than turbos do and the powerband is more linear. They are way better for autocross as they aren't peaky like turbos. They more fun to drive through the corners but not as much fun in a straight line as a turbo. You don't get the kick a turbo gives. Typically if one is set up correctly there is useable boost at like 1500rpm.

Like Weasy said it is Ghetto, but at the same time cool as hell! I don't think I would cover that bad boy up myself, maybe dress the engine up a bit more or make a custom cover that allowed it to stick out...

Wellllll

Not quite true

Most turbos have better cooling ability then a s/c unit....

The great thing about s/c is the power on demand...wheneverr you want...a twinscrew setup like you see there will give you power from 1000-6500rpm ....basicaly = to a small and mid sized turbo combined
The "kick" you feel in a turbo se4tup is the turbo FINALLY working...vs the kick in the s/c cant be felt becuase you are breaking loose

well tracion problems aint much to worry about on a 4banger s/c

That looks like a fairly large one itself so teh power needed to turn it would over come the power it would MAKE within the first 1500rpm-2000

I look forward to punch the gas in my car at 2k in 2nd and start loosing traction

all that engine and yet no nuclear bombs...no wonder cuba pansied out. To continue my escapade of bad jokes, why is there a ferrari emblem on the interior. More seriously though, ive heard alot about SC drivers saying that in the fraction of a second that it takes to shift the turbo loses boost, while the SC keeps pusing the engine...anyone want to claify this to being true?

thats called turbo lag and there are ways and products made that fix that.
my buddy has an evo 8 and his boost level never changes when he shifts although it does shoot lots of flames out the exhaust...hehe

and the answer to the ferrari emblem is that the mr2 strikes a good resemblence to a ferarri 350 or something so some mr2 owners instead of taking pride in the mr2 they pretend they own a ferarri....lame

idk i think that sc sticking out is pretty ghetto. the triple x vin diesel gauges are pretty ricey, the ferrari badge is indeed lame. the carbon fibre look steering wheel insert is pretty ricey too. other than that its kickass.
