Yeah it will. I know Wagonis did. But I haven't seen him on the forum in a while. He just had to re-do a few wires and he got it.

Easiest mod I've ever done.
1.) Buy the wheel 2.) Buy this $11 harness: SPX Toyota | Tool Detail 3.) Install the harness and mod 4.) Drive away happy That simple. The only thing here is that the cruise control stalk from your MKII will not fit the MKIII wheel. Now I've heard that the MKIII stalk will either not plug in or not work properly. My wheel actually came out of a Corolla S and the stalk plugged right in and all the cruise functions worked perfectly. So in case yours wont work, just get one from a Corolla S and plug it right in.P.S. When you call for the harness, just say you need one, don't tell them what you are using it for. It basically allows you to plug your newer style airbag to the older style harness, but it is made for a diagnostics tool for Toyota. |

The wheel + airbag cost me $100 from some local dude, but thats a hella good price...got lucky.
![]() As far as the harness, you HAVE to get it if you want the airbag to be functional. The plug on the new wheels do not fit the older style harness on the MR2, and this will let you plug the two in. It's got the new style harness on one end and the old style on the other. So in total, the mod cost me $111 and it's all easy enough to do yourself. Just be sure to disconnect the battery before you go messing with the wheel and airbag...last thing you want is that sucker to blow up in your face. |

I am going to start looking into this mod. The wheel from the Corolla looks kinda like the TRD one that costs an arm and a leg.

The only functional difference is the newer wheel is slightly smaller in diameter. Its well worth it.
Also, if you can find a cruise control, it should plug right up. You can also bolt yours in, but it will take a bit more work. |
