carbon fiber or fiberglass t-tops?

Hey guys,

I'm looking at purchasing either fiberglass or carbon fiber t-tops. There's some on ebay from this FRP bodykits guy. Anywho, I'm trying to justify spending $300 more on carbon fiber. The only thing I can come up with is: when I look at the top from the inside I'll see cabon fiber and say "oh, cool." I really don't think the 1-2 lb. difference is worth $300...

Infact, I think I may have just answered my question.

I'm going to paint the outside of them so that doesn't matter.

Comments? Ideas? Experiances?

Are you sure that the CF is even 1-2 lb. lighter? And yeah, probably not worth $300 dollars when there's starving children in Africa you could be thinking about while eating 10 steak dinners at a fancy restaurant with all that money you save.

Think realistically on when you will get around to get fiberglass painted so you can put it on the car... and the cost of the paint. If you plan on getting it painted well and accurately, and can get it done for under 300 bucks, fiberglass is the stuff for you.

Ild be more interested in which resin they use. If the use just normal GP resin , well i can see them leaking very badly due to warping in the hot sun.
Get them to specify which resin. Accept no less than Vinylester which will not warp at even 250 degrees celcius.
Normal GP fiberglass resin bents at 50 degrees
