Is this normal???

When im driving around (X) gear and the revs are up are around 2-3, my car pushes forward when I let off the gas. For example, if im driving in traffic and im stuck in 2nd gear, im usually going fast enough to where i can shift up to 3rd but i dont because ill be slowing down soon. When I get off the gas when im in 2nd gear at 2k rpm, the car shakes back and forth instead of cruising smoothly

The only way i can eliminate this is by putting it into neutral or stepping on the clutch all the way which i dont like to do. Can someone tell me if this is normal and if not, whats wrong with it and how can I fix it??

Just to add in, i have a 93 NA wiht about 224,xxx miles.

this is my first car and the only car my family has thats a standard so when i bought the car, i thought it was just me not driving correctly so i thought i would catch on later. Now that driving stick comes natural, i started to notice things i never noticed before such as the issue i stated. but yeah, it really bothers me especially when in traffic.

wait a min...you're riding your clutch? if you are. then, it's normal. i never really ride my clutch at all. just go into neutral.

The only way I can think that it's driver error is if you let off the clutch really fast and it starts engine braking. I can see how someone would describe that as "rocking back and forth"

thats what i thought at first but i had to make sure. It only really occurs around (correction) 3-4k rpms when i let off the gas completely. If i dont push in the clutch or put the car in neutral, it will jerk
