(newbie question) engine swap 3sgte vs 3sgt for a 91 mr2 w/2.2

i recently bought a 91 mr2 project car with a 2.2L. i would like your help and opinions on this. which engine is better and what other things would i have to change like drive shafts, brakes and any thing else. whats the twin entry turbo for the mr2. and if anyone knows or is selling a mr2 shell i would be interested in buying it from you. also if any one knows how to fix the rust on the sideskirts under the doors.

you can turbo the 2.2l engine and get a little bit more fun out of it. as far as the rust goes, sand it down or use some rustolium and repaint that part of the car. what would you need another shell for? parts? if so, look in the parts fs department of the forum and you will be able to find one for sure. also the turbo had larger breaks to compensate for the power gain from the 2.2(5s-fe) engine.

the 3sgte is the 2.0 'turbo' engine. there is three gens availbe with different power outputs.
the usdm 'gen2' with 200hp
the jdm 'gen2' with 220hp
and the jdm 'gen3' with 240hp

then there is the n/a versions:
2.2 5sfe 135hp?(the one in your car)
the 3sge 160hp? (not sure how big it is)
and the b.e.a.m.s. engine. (200hp of n/a power) and hard to get/find.

and if you want better breaks get the '93+ turbo brakes. lager rotors, calipers, and bigger master cylinder.

also avoid adding a turbo to your n/a. it will be short lived.

Don't forget the Gen4 3sgte. Also, at this point, the beams 3sge is pretty easy and cheap to get.

Easy if you get a complete gen3 engine harness.
