throttle body cable

My cable is starting to fray and split. I was talking with my brother about replacing it, he mentioned that there might be something out there where I can get a different version than the dealership one, to where I would eliminate the cruise control he did the same thing on his eclipse. My cruise control is useless so I dont care if I get rid of it. Does anybody know anything about a place to where I can purchase this and is it cheaper than the dealership(price isnt that big of a deal i am just curious to the difference). Any help would be great. Thanks

The dealership is quoting me a t $170 bucks for the cable, which sounds really high.
