suspension question...

hey so i put a new set of tires on my car today and the back fit fine but the front are rubbing against the coils... im running a set of 16" 2400 sx rims
hypothedically if my shocks are shot and i got a better pair or new pair for that matter could that provide some clearence for these tires? also are the stock springs always black how can i check if they are aftermarket i feel like the car has been lowered... thanks in advance and sorry for all the newb questions

The 240sx wheels are pretty skinny, 16x6.5 +40, so I don't think you'll have any problems. What year is your car? If it's a pre-93 and you can stick your whole hand in the wheel gap, your pretty much at stock height!
