Hey everyone...I have been on the hunt for some new wheels to put on my romantic partner. I want some five spoke rims that are deep dish. I was looking at Sport Max 962's or something similar to the attachment pic. I want 17" and I was thinking like a 17x7 17x9 combo since they are staggered. As it goes for tires, I know very little. I am learning everything about wheels and such as I go so any guidance or advice is grealty appriciated!

Hey I'm getting the same size wheels this tuesday! I've been getting alot of flack about Sportmax. Obviously it's not Volk or Work, but some of us have morgages to pay
I really never cared about what people think anyway. If I like it, well that's all that matters. As far as tires, I'm going with 215/40/17 up front and 245/40/17 in the rear. Post some pix when you get your rims! |

18's are too big for me. Need some cushion for the Mr2 pushing. What's this term "flax"?

my grandpa (second gen german.cigar smoking beer drinkers) would say it when someone would argue with him. "this M*****F***** was telling me to buy X,y,and b and i told them i only needed y but they said no i was wrong and i told that pump jockey what i thought of him... im not taking flax from some snot nosed MF' er!
he said they use that term in korea for the shrapnel that the 'G***s would shoot at them'' |

Just got my rims today. I'm getting my tires this friday. After that, I'll be getting some lowering springs and new Tokico Illuminas. I'll be taking some better pics soon!

phew that was a relief! I was originally going to get the gunmetal, but I went with the gold instead. Not to many blue cars in my area with gold rims! Thanx again for your comments!

Ya man I want that gunmetal....I'm having the hardest time finding the 17x9 for the back. Ya navy and gold is classy.

Your ride looks complete...and I notice that you are in cali which makes sense cause all awsome looking cars are in cali. I got really close to buying the gun metal 17x7 and 17x9 then i saw the hyper light. But they don't make the hyper light in 17x9 cause I called and asked sportmax if they did. So now im thinking it might be easier and cheaper to go with the hyper light and keep all the wheels the same size...but I still really like the staggered look. I'm in a situation. You think buying tires and such is a big difference between a 17x7 and a 17x9?

I'd keep em staggered since the car came like that from the factory. Also, you'd prolly be better off with a wider tire in the rear to give you alot better grip back there.

as long as you keep the rear small enough to add a larger size tire you will be fine. i'm stuck with rubber bands all the way around. i'm looking for a set of 16s to swap the 18s out but cant find anything around me .. besides the discount tire crap ..

i have some gunmetal 962's 18x9.5 with 285/45/18 rear and 245/35/18 front. the tires and wheel combo where from my old car (stealth tt). but they are just toooooooooooo big for the mister 2. now i might either get some 16's or 17's deep dish cause they look sweet.
