Speed flaps being the things that sit in front of the front wheels? Little rectangle pieces?

Dunno, the Y doesn't make sense really. The number also only makes sense if they are the same on both sides, or they come as a set. Can anyone confirm?

I just bought a pair of them from toyota. But I don't see anywhere how it would line up with and stock screw holes that are already in place??? I'm thinking that maybe because my 2 is a jdm that the panels are different? Does anybody have a pic of this part installed? Thanks

These will only bolt up to 98+ JDM wheel fender liners.

But, with small modification, and a drill, they will work just fine on any years mr2. scroll through the group buy section for a group buy that i did with these. you should find your answer in that thread.

Here is a quote from a '99 MKII owner from down under. Anyone planning on buying and installing these speed flaps should read this useful post.

My car has been totally stripped and going to bare metal.
Now the cars that have these flaps have a modification on the plastic fender guard.
What they have behind the guard where 2 holes for the flap go in is a plastic bracket with 2 threads that is rivited to the guard. 2 bolts are used to hold it in place and the 3rd hole a bolt is used to go through a c clip which is attatched to the front spoiler.
Now these flaps are subjected to a lot of wind force. May i suggest that if you want to do it proffessionally and to last ,as l think silicon or just screwing it in might give way is to do the following.
Put a c clip on the spoiler and bolt up the first hole of the flap to it so as to get a starting point. level the flap then mark on the plastic liner the other to holes of the flap.
Remove the flap then using a peice of aluminium 1 inch by 6 inches drill and tap threads for 2 bolts. Pop rivit this aluminium peice from behind the plastic liner and then just bolt into place. ALA factory. Taking the liner of is a pain Dont damage the clips and do take the wheel off to make life easier.
Sorry but these brackets are not available as a spare part as the are just a part of the liner.
Alternatively you could always use a grommit that expands from behind and bolt it up but personally l dont know if it will hold up..........

I fitted the little diverters from newer Corollas, fits stock holes, looks great and does the job. About $40 for the pair from local Toyota dealer.

Awesome work Randy. I was looking at Emma's Corolla and wondering if they'd work. Would you take some pictures, and post the part numbers in a new thread?
