1992 mr2 turbo alternator belt part

    Hello,
Just a quick question if anyone can tell me the answer that would be great.
So I have to replace my alternator belt on a 1992 mr2 turbo jdm rev 2 and I cant figure out which belt to use. Under my frunk I have a power steering resevior but when i get under the car i dont see a power steering pump anywhere. when buying my belt they ask me if it has power steering and I got the one that was a yes but like i said i dont see no pump. Is there something im missing? does the power steering work different than a regualr car on the mr2? is it that my car has power steering so the crank pully isx larger or something? also my steering didnt change after breaking the alt belt.
any insight would be great thanks!

ahhh... So the alternator is a larger one I'm assuming with larger pully? Also just wondering if this is normal... I have a red digital boost gauge where the stock one would be and this one looks stock aswell did some come with digital?

Sorry, but I can't help you with the alternator issue.

The stock boost gauge was conventional, not digital.

The gauge is in the spot where the conventional one would be and looks 100% stock I would assume somebody made an aftermarket one to fit the stock location

Also I have all the suspension changed by the looks of it and I have no idea who made the parts. All I know is they are lime green sway bars and crome shocks etc

The boost gauge is an EMS Powered Digital Boost Gauge installed. EMS powered made this digital boost gauge as a direct fit replacement for the useless OEM gauge.

The sway bars are suspension techniques sway bars.

As for the shocks, what do you mean "chrome shocks?" MR2 shocks are inserts, so they insert inside the OEM housing. Coilovers, however, fully replace everything.

If it's lowered on shocks and springs, what color are the springs/how do they look? For the shocks, post up a picture of the top of the shocks where they are "adjustable" for both the front and the rear. You can ID the shock type by the look of adjustment knob on top.

Wow thanks you really know your stuff that is my gauge and those are my sway bars 100%. as far as the coil overs they are adjustable with yellow springs and the whole assembly is chrome. I will take pictures when I go do my alternator later today. I also am going to take a picture of a couple devices I seen wired in I believe they are fuel cut off devices to stop the fuel cut out but Im not 100% sure. Also I have a funny feeling the injectors have Been changed so I will snap some pics of those. Thanks a million

So I checked the coil overs and they are all chrome with yellow springs and purple lock adjusters . Also I took a few pics of a couple things which I will post later. I changed the alternator belt as well as the ac belt all without taking anything off the car or disconnecting anything. Helps if you weld a 14mm to a long bar to access the lock nut on the adjuster pulley for the ac. Left the intercooler and all piping in place

Glad to hear you got the belts replaced.

Did the coilovers look like this? If so, they are KW Variant 3 Coilovers.

They are one of the higher end coilovers on the market, they are good. Clunking could mean they might need to be rebuilt though.

Yeah thats what I was thinking, I have yet to even inspect the front end yet though. I get a lot of squeeking over little bumps or change in terrain to me it seems like sway bar bushings or something along those lines. If the bump is a hard one the suspension takes it great. and the cornering is really good.
I will eventually get under the front and take a look. Being on call all the time leaves no time to drive/work on my mr2. thanks again

Could be the upper mounts as well, I had a really loud thunk on my old suspension when I rolled over bumps and it turned out to be the upper mounts.

I will be checking them out this week some time and will post a update to let you know what the culprit was.

You're welcome for the helps so far. As was said, KW is a good suspension, though the spring rates are a little soft for track use IMO. A lot of guys love them on the street though. Their one drawback is they are not full length adjustable, but they are good coilovers none the less.

Also, when do you hear the clunking. Clunking over bumps, going straight, turns or sometime else?

when I have a passenger the bumping gets worse and its always over little bumpbs going like 10 km/h that it makes the most noise always going straight
