pulled apart a 3vzfe and...

I pulled apart a 3vzfe to replace a known bad rod bearing and to switch out some heads.
These were to supposed to be the good heads that i will use on my mr2, but the cam journals look like crap.
There are scratches in the journals just big enough to feel with the fingertip and the head bearing surface and bearing cap feel like sandpaper they are so rough.

What can be done?
Is the only option to buy new heads?
Can a machine shop bore out the cam bore and put bearing in?

Some of you engine builders have to know something. Please help.

If the scratching is minor enough then it *might* be okay. If it's too severe then it's time to play toss the heads.

They can be restored but you'd be much better off buying new heads for the time/effort involved.

What is involved in restoring the heads?
Machining in bearings?
Machining bigger bores and some kind of oversized cams?
New heads are ridiculously expensive.
Thanks for the reply.
