I have a recording of it and I'm sure others recorded some video of the car at the event this past weekend. only thing with my video is that I cant get it off the camera without the software.. dad lost it. and its his camera that i borrowed.

It's not raspy fairly quiet with that muffler but once it revs it comes to life with a deep throaty tone with a loud whine from the supercharger. pure music

Not sure how to embed links but here is the link I just uploaded of mine...

Finally got my Berk Exhaust setup for the 5vzfte with 3" piping straight from the downpipe to the Mufflers...Sounds pretty damn wicked once it starts boosting

I have no shots of the tips when they were done, but this setup sounded nice. it passed emissions easily with that small cat you can see behind the muffler. If I remember it was something like .032 hc or something

I use a Audi TT 8J 3.2L exhaust for my V6.
From the exhaust headers I take 50mm = 2" pipes an make an Y-Pipe to a 70mm 2,75" cat and go further on with 2,75" up to the Audi muffler.
The end pipes I take only two 90° 2,75" pipes.

Original Audi mufller sound not good, like a electro machine, but I optimise it a little bit, inside the muffler there are two inner pipes and I close them with a steal plate. Now it sound very good but not extrem loud, very comfortable.
But it makes very hard vibrations under the car, or if you stand at a wall. If you go under the running car you must close your ears.

The complete system is very light wheigt:
2x V6 headers = 6kg
first pipe include cat = 6kg
TT exhaust include pipe to cat = 15,3kg

Now I will optimize it much more, I will close the inner tubes with a thin pipe.
Stay tuned.

Correct. Next step on the car is to finish the under body panels all the way to the rear and get a proper diffuser under there.

Let me ask a stupid question here: Why not just run true dual exhaust?

I read some other posts about equalizing the tubes using an x or h pipe which makes a lot of sense - but the only dual exhaust pics I have seen are in the 2GR swap (Gouky I think?) It seems like a lot of unnecessary work to run a y-pipe and then back out to duals...

When I get my 1MZ swap done (should be next month) I am taking the car to a local custom exhaust shop. I'll take some pics and video. I'm planning on the Apexi N1 mufflers and an X pipe.

I think this Camry sounds bad a**

[quote=V6'er;52677]I have Brad's headers, no cats, a Turbo muffler.

The sound is a bit raspy, but MANY people have said that it sounds great. At low RPM's and light load, it sounds more like a muscle car, but once it gets past about 3000 RPM, things change a lot. It is fairly loud, but I've never been pulled over for it, perhaps because it's not screaming loud unless the throttle is wide open.

People think that the stock muffler is so restrictive. They need to listen to my car so that they can realize just how little that thing is actually doing.

I went to the exhaust shop today, and my guy says there is no way we are fitting flex/stretch pipes, an x-pipe, and 2 mufflers in the required space. I haven't seen it on a lift in quite a while and it really puts thing in perspective with how little room there is to work with down there!

He did say he could run true dual exhaust with exits in front of each rear wheel with a custom h-pipe between the down-pipes. It would probably be pretty loud, but as long as the tubes equalize somewhat, I think it would be cool.

Any thoughts or opinions on this setup?

It can work but you'll have to put the pipes lower than the under panel, I'd love to have the exhaust right under the side vent but that means cutting appart the body. It's also going to be very very loud since it's closer to you now

The Turbo muffler does very little. And I don't have any sound clips.

I'm having the Kaminari body kit installed after I'm done with the engine swap, and I talked to my body guy - and he said he could cut a hole in the side skirts for the exhaust tips. I'm a little concerned about rattling and discoloration from the heat. I was thinking about the dual tips on each side that have a sharp 45 degree slant upward.

Not posted on here much yet but am an extremely active member on MR2OC.co.uk

I V6'd my 2 a few months back and fab'd up this y-pipe to mate up to a stock Turbo Motoria silencer.

The final one on the car (currently off because of a crack) had more clearance than shown in these pics. I don't have the issue of fitting a cat. But need a good smooth flow transition as i will be supercharging.

have to say sicwitit that yours can be doing no favours for flow promotion and the sharp bend into the magnaflow can will cause massive distruptions to flow....

Brad & chili - your setups look really sweet!!
