MKII exhaust on MKIII photoshoped
I love the look of the exhausts available for the MKII. So I have been thinking about fabricating one to fit my car. I photo shopped a bit and this be what I came up with. What do you think.

that specific exhaust looks way overdone IMO (on any car) but i like where you're going with the idea. maybe try photoshopping a Greddy SP or something somewhat more fitting?

You'll need to custom fabricate all the way from the engine to get cans aimed like that - custom header, remove the cat, might even need to remove the rear sway to get them low enough for exposure Might be doable tho. It looks really aggressive and good on a MKII, hard to say about the Spyder. Now if you're just after quad tips, that's much easier with existing mufflers out there (TM Duals, Carson Tuned, TTE/Remus).

I actually like the entire look of the exhaust... With the cans showing. The angle
of the exhaust, in the photo, wouldn't be the actual position. And I understand what mods would have to take place. I probably wouldn't go with the exhaust in the picture. It was the first one I bumped into. I would probably go with some thing more fitting. I would expect to have to make custom piping, brackets and so forth. That's part of the fun of it, right.....? The worst part of the whole thing is that I stuck $500 in the exhaust that's on the car and my Wife would stick her foot in my ass for taking that off and spending more $. She would be right. But it's my toy and I'm going to play with it... |

Well, that all depends on how much the wife knows about cars:
You: Honey, rememeber that exhaust I just bought? Wife: Yeah You: Damn thing is actually made my performance worse and my car runs like $hit Wife: Oh no, what are you going to do? You: The manufacture won't take it back, so I'll have to sell it Wife: How are you going to do that? You: Well, I have to take it off and replace it with something else then I can sell it Wife: Ok, you want some desert after dinner and a little nookie tonight? You: Hell yeah See? Problem solved bro. ![]() |

Hey "Numb Nuts", I wasn't looking for comments about my cars overall appearance. I have all the "thumbs up" and folks yelling "awsome car", to fill that need. A hater in ever bunch... This is about the exhaust idea. And I think the wing rocks.! ![]() |

Haha - don't ever post on Spyderchat and ask for an opinion on your wing - you'll get all kinds of hate, and a few thumbs!
But yeah the exhaust part is kind of fun depending on your skill. I have very little skill so I was comfortable putting together a basic muffler and welding it after a friend gave me some pointers - but tackling a custom header back would be a different story. Good luck - any kind of forward movement with a new system is always cool to see. I think more of it would be hidden on this car but I bet it would look pretty good from the back, and really good (most likely) when gawking from the top down - I get a lot of props on the stainless muffler from Carson. |

seems silly to spend a bunch of money on a prefabricated exhaust for an mk2 just to hack it to pieces.. might as well just buy the mufflers and make your own.

Ya, I was thinking that as well. Or if I were to find someone with a used one. What brought this all about in the first place, is that I am going to put a front lip and side skirts on the car. I have to finish doing the fitting and then paint them yet. Well I haven't purchased a rear skirt yet. Can't find one that tickles my fancy. So I started thinking of other ways to take up the space. So the exhaust idea struck me.
