wheels advice please

Hello all!
My girlfriend has a toyota mr2 mk3.
i have some old alloys from a previous car (aftermarket wheels) which are lovely but not sure about fitments...as the wheels are larger on the back with the standard wheels do i have to replicate that with new wheels or can they be the same size and width on the front and back?
if so will 7 x 17 wheels with 215 45 17" fit without any bodywork mods?

any help much appreciated as i am new to thr mrs world so a little lost
thanks all

Paul

It's mostly going to depend on the wheel offset (they might rub).

As to size, the pre-2003 models had 15s all around, and many people have changed over to all 16s, some to all 17s, etc. The tail end will tend toward more oversteer in spirited driving with all one size tire - if you go that route, might consider an aftermarket front sway bar to re-balance the handling.

thanks for taking the time to reply...so it sounds like 17" is very unlikely to fit without rubbing?
is there any way i can find out what offset the wheels are?
i know the tyres state their sizes but where do the wheels say?
regards
paul
