New here, new-ish owner, a few questions

Hey all,

I am the proud owner of a 2003 MR2 that I bought back in August '07. I live in New Orleans but bought the car from a dealer in PA. I love pretty much everything about the car. I have a few questions though.

1. The car is green with a tan top, black and tan interior and a 5-speed manual. It has a decal on the front quarter panels that says "Elegance". Any idea what that is about? Is it some kind of limited edition trim line?

2. I've lost one of the little black plastic trim pieces that fits into the rear bumper. Any idea how I can order a replacement? Maybe I should just go to the dealer.

3. I've been thinking of getting a luggage rack for the back. Does anyone have any experience with one of these? Does the luggage get hot sitting over the engine?

thanks,
matt.

1. Added by somebody after it left the factory.
2. I've had good luck with Carson Toyota - you can find them on the web at Carson Toyota TRD Parts, Replacement parts and accessories for Southern California
3. No experience - but I do know there aren't many styles available, IIRC there's a used one up for sale now at the SpyderChat site.

The pics show the "ears" problem with the top (pretty common), you can see how to fix that at the SpyderMagazine site, here's a link directly to the article on fixing the top: Convertible Top Straps

My Google Map

RE: #3 the luggage racks I've seen have a space between them and the engine lid that is about 2+ inches off. If you have all of the heat shields in place in the engine bay then that should be plenty of room to dissipate the heat before hitting your bags.

That is a nice looking spyder!
