gen3 16 fan installed.

I have, for some time, wanted to put a 16" fan over the motor to keep things cooler when driving around town. More air flow, ya know. Well they don't fit out of the box. I tried different sizes that did fit, but wasn't satisfied with the air flow. Well...I did some noodle storming and managed to make the proper mods to make one fit. Here are a few pics. If interested how just ask.

I STILL HAVE TO LOOM THE WIRING

Very cool

Your car is na isn't it? Do you have any IAT data to validate effectiveness against? Is it pulling air up? I'm assuming you removed the grill blocker on the deck lid, did you?

I have been watching my IATs this summer and have wondered about better ways of getting the numbers down. I wonder what kind of drop this might provide overall for the engine bay. Keep us posted!

No data. Not yet, waiting for a cable I ordered for my laptop and software. Pulling down. When the truck lid is shut, the air gets pulled in from the top and as a bonus through the side air inlets. The hot air is going down and out the back. The fan that I installed has a 3500 cfm rating. I believe that I have pissed off my alternator though. I am controlling the fan via a switch on the dash, Plan on a temp switch, I'm not sure what switch to go with. I also modified an after market cool air kit. It was designed to run down to the factory air box location. it is now behind the battery close to the air inlet... just short of the wire harness loom. Moving the air filter did make an actual difference in performance feel.
