Smile How do you clean the door over the engine?

I have a 2004 MR2 which I keep really shiny, except for the metal under the grill of the engine cover. Do these come apart somehow, or do I need a really stiff, long brush? Suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

there's a hand full of 8mm or 10mm bolts that hold it place. Remove them and it just comes off......

I just 'floss' the gap with a terrycloth towel when I wash the car, surprisingly it keeps pretty clean.

Be careful when removing the screws!! They're threaded into the fibreglass engine lid and really enjoy cross threading! No, I mean REALLY enjoy cross threading - not like raptor who enjoys cross dressing!

Fibreglass? Maybe in Germany, or maybe aftermarket.

The OEM lid has two plastic Phillips-head screws that thread into plastic inserts in center spar of the metal lid, and 4 metal bolts with a 10mm/Phillips-head on the outer corners.

I would recommend a removal, good clean/polish/sealant (not wax) job, then replace. Use the floss method supunna recommends for regular washing. Repeat the remove/clean, etc routine about once a year. Works for me in the Florida sun on a 202 (black) car.
