lowering springs?
I would like to lower my Spyder a bit. But I'm concerned about having issues with my tires rubbing while driving over dips and so forth. I had issues before and stiffened or at least shortened the travel by using spring rubbers. I guess my question is: are lowering springs stiffer than oem? And are there any out there that would reduce the height of my car an inch only.? FYI, I have wheel spacers, thus the chances of rubbing in the first place.

I have the correct wheels and tires. Just would like to know if there is less squat with lowering spring in comparison to the OEM.? Let's put it that way.

Lowering springs are *usually* stiffer than OE. Make sure you double check the spring rates before you plunk your nickle though.

Well, what brand would you suggest.? When I first started this off I mention the wheel spacers. Reason being is that the rear tires just hit the fender lip when I hit a pretty good sized dip in the road...and going too fast. I think they hit the plastic portion of the inner fender lip, that's how close they are to clearing. It doesn't happen too often. When it does though I get a chill up my spine. After I thought about things a bit more I remembered that all four of the tires are to the OEM specs of the rear. So the front are a bit wider than the OEM front specs. Well, dwell on that....

Just so you know, lowering springs will have the same diameter as the OE springs. only changes will be number of coils andhow tall they are.
As far as brands go there are a few that I like and a few I don't like but I don't know what's best for the Mk III Brands I like: *RSR *Eibach *H&R *Tanabe Brands I don't like: (IMO the companies listed make springs meant more for show than go.) *Tein *Intrax |

Coil diameter isn't an issue. Well as far as I know... Would an inch of lowering throw the camber off at all?

Camber will change (increased negative camber) when you lower your car.
You can install crash bolts to try to get some small amount of adjustment out of it or go to camber plates. |
