How about the t-top or convertible top seals (since we have a multi-car troubleshoot going on).
It is possible that the drain plugs for both types are clogged. After that I'd check the main windshield seal. |

Look in the storage bin behind the seats. Water there?
If yes, then you need to clean out the drains as mentioned above: How To: http://www.euroroadster.com/articles...DrainHoles.xml |

I havent found water in the bins behind the seats. Mainly it just drips down from behind my dash but when I look I cant find where it is coming from. Its kind of annoying but not super high on my list of things to do.

You have a MKII right? Just going off of your pic. Aren't there drain plugs in the T-top as well when you pull the tops out? Could water be traveling down the A pillar and then into the dash? |

What does the wetness smell like? Heater core leaks are obvious. Coolant has a very definite sweet/bitter sort of odor. An A/C drain leak will smell like normal or dirty water.
And lastly... When does the floor get wet? All the time? Only when you use the A/C? Only when you wash the car? |

The only time I have found it dripping or already wet is after a heavy rain. When I looked under the dash I didnt smell anything funny and it just looked like water.

Do you keep your vents on fresh air or circulation?

I think lately they have been on circulation. But before they were usually on fresh air.

you can usually tell when you go over a large puddle when its set for fresh air water sometimes comes the lower vents. there is supposed to be some sort of flap to keep moisture from coming through the vents.

So could it just be that the flap is going bad? or could it be something more serious?

If it's coming in while driving in the rain I would also look at the seal of anything penetrating the front wall on the passenger side (A/C lines, etc). My previous car (Subaru) had several owners reporting a leak at the seal for the steering column. If it gets wet when parked in the rain, then its probably safe to ignore me.

I dont ever have time to reach down when im driving to check it out. I usually notice it when my passenger complains about their feet getting wet. but thats usually after the rain. so i dont know.
