SMT and E-brake?

Hello everyone,

I'm new to this forum. I'm thinking about purchasing an MR2 somewhere between years 2003-2005.

But in my place I'm finding only the ones with SMT transmission that are above 2003 year. And as I'm searching for an MR2 for a sporty driving, I'm not sure whether SMT will be enough (I've read about fast downshifts, but slow upshifts).

Could you please comment your experiences? More specifically, SMT + E-brake experiences... How to engage an e-brake (while driving) with an SMT if there is no clutch?

Hoping to hearing from you,
Oxy-
