Well I primered the car last week but I was going to repass it and post those pictures because the paint gun I used was crap and decided to squirt primer to the back of the car, But I sanded that down and fixed it for a reshoot but won't be able to until I get ahold of a better paint gun, I was also supposed to primer the parts I took off like the lip, back bumper, side vent, and wing but this time the paint gun decided not to work. Heres pics of the progress though.

Why yes just got the front bumper, lip, and side vent primered yesturday, also got new paint guns, which was one of the reason why I hadn't updated (had no paint gun)..Also the weather has been and still is crappy but here is what I've got..
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Remember to look at the before pics to see how crappy they used to look |

Good luck, myself and a guy who has done it a few times spent yesterday from 12-6pm taking everything off and starting to sand, then from 9am-6pm today pretty much just sanding, then 6-8 going over everything with prepsol, which is a degreaser and makes a painting surface, masking and spraying a primer im sooo ****ing sore.
Tomorrow we shall be sanding back the primer then colour. I know what your going through! We had a hoist and orbital airsander etc tho, that made life a whole lot easier. |

Thanks, Yeah I spent 2 whole days sanding and taping for primer. It is a big hassle and the sun does not help at all..Lucky all I had was that electric sander and the sand pad...
Do you have a thread up of your progress?? |

Na I dont, my dad has my camera so there would be no progress pictures, which sucks.
But today we sanded back the primer and shot some colour, but despite the fact we had a water trap there was still water in the air so there are water bubbles, so that means there is more sanding tomorrow and hopfully a good coat. |

He is a bit of a perfectionist so was really ****ed off haha. Quote:
The paint on it was about as bad as you can get. lots of clear coat cracking, a few dings, one door was sprayed right over the unprepped clear of a previous colour. Some clear was thick and hard some was thin and soft. It was a patchwork. One door Required just going over it with 150 grit and the other required hours of work to take it right back, shape it a bit, repair. We stripped it, sanded everything to a stage where the body was straightish and was all finnished with 180 grit. Masked it Prepsoled it (Product called prepsol, it softens the paint and cleans off dust etc) Layer of primer Lots of sanding wit 180 taking out any imprefections we found Prepsoled it Thick primer Lots of sanding with 240ish Remasked Prepsoled Colour Tomorrow I will take back the watermarks etc and have a go at spraying the topcoat, i'll have a professional painter watching over me hopfully. |

I get annoyed with painting sometimes. I spend hours preping some cars to get a sh** paint finish but on the other hand you have my racecar which I rubbed down and power sanded and finished within a couple hours and it came out awesome. Stupid paint, stupid water
