brakes

just wanted to know if anyone lives in adelaide and would have any idea of places to get parts for and 1985 atmo mr2. my main problem at the moment is the brake rotors, i got some dba751s(L/R)'s for the rear but they dont fit. i wanted better braking as i live very close to the hills and intend to do hills runs. any help would be great. thanx

You may have gotten rotors from an '87+ MR2. They put bigger rotors on those cars. The new fronts were similar in size to the old, but the backs are as big as the old fronts. You can use the '85 calipers with the larger rotors if you can get the mounting brackets off of an '87+ car (SC or NA). It helps a good bit, but I've never seen any hard data of how much it reduces stopping distance or fade. It's about the cheapest brake upgrade you can do.
