I would say change it and see if it works. I mean its only $50ish and you'll not have to worry about it for a long time.

Yes, that's probably your MC.

i think its the mc, you can push your brake pedal firmly but not all the way to the floor and hold it, if it starts sinking to the floor thats definitly your problem

If you're gonna put in a new MC in, you might as well bleed it all out and get new fluid.

You can save yourself a lot of headache if you bench bleed the MC before you install it.
How to:http://www.superchevy.com/technical/.../0509sc_bench/ I use a turkey baster to suck most of the fluid out of the reservoir before cracking open the system. Make sure that you've got a nice layer of shop rags all under your MC and attached lines otherwise you're likely to get brake fluid all over your frunk paint. |

New brake fluid is a good thing! Brake fluid draws moisture out of the air very easily and quickly and that translates to a brake system that is destroyed by rust and corrosion. If you have no idea how old the fluid is than don't hesitate to change it. Brake fluid is cheap too! Bench bleeding is a must, it can be difficult if not impossible to get all the air out if you don't because the MC is not always mounted level on a firewall and that can cause bubbles to be trapped.
