Suspension replacement
As the title suggests im in need of a new suspension system. Few questions on this one.
1) Am I able to remove the shocks and springs from my mr2 by hand without tearing myself in half. 2) Do you guys suggest a spring kit and shocks sold sperately(if so please tell me what brands/link me up please). Or should I bite the bullet and purchase the 1,000usd suspension overhaul from 2srus? Im really only looking to spend 750usd if possable but i do realize that having a quality suspension that is reliable and fun will trump the 250-500 extra green backs. Thanks for your help. |

1) You can remove the struts as an assembly by hand, but you will need a spring compressor to remove the springs.
2) It all depends on the set up you want. What do you plan to use your 2 for? |

Well the idea with this 2 if for street mostly and the ocassional track. The track part is going to be far in the future because of the condition of the body.
Also is it practical to buy a spring compressor for my car? How much do they cost and where do i look? Thanks in advance. |

I think they are cheap, under 20 bucks. It's worth it if you work on a car at all. Most places like checker, autozone, etc. have ones for rent. Basically you purchase the tiem, then return it when you use it for the full amount you spent on it.
I'd recommend Koni yellow struts (Koni sport struts I believe is their official name) with some TRD springs. Should make for an agressive look and good handling, all while not making it a shitty ride, prob. more comfy than stock. |
