I'm sure he could help me, and I bet that diy site could too- (Used it once, was very impressed!)
But, this post is dated now, to the first month I had the mr2. Before I could drive her legally, even... I just didn't know!

Ive been hearing about this bushing for 2 years and could never figure out where the heck it is, now I know! Ive got some play in my steering rack, I feel it when I got over bumps. I replaced the inner and outer tierods thinking that was the problem..ford steering rack

OEM... $4 bucks plus shipping. Mine was just replaced.

Interestingly it seems when my rack was taken apart it was discovered my rack was rebuilt in the past by someone and they did what you did...
When the white bushing came out it had a few wraps of electrical tape around it... seems to be more common of a fix than you might think.

Pic of bushing:

haha, win.

Hey, it worked. Next time I have my rack out (if ever) I'll replace the bushing, now that I know where to get it... but wrapping it in tape did the trick for me! (at least so far...)

thats crazy...my local dealer just brings up thier little program, has me look at the diagram and point to the part. They order if they can.

I think they just didn't want to bother for a 4 dollar part.

It was listed somewhere but I don't remember where. You could try to search it but it might be easier to just contact Aaron at Lithia.
