So I'm still up in the air about shocks...

Really want to decide what the best route to go on new shocks.
Was going to go w/ the econo Tokico blues, but wonder if the
Konis are worth the xtra money....for a sunday driver....in the mountains.

I can't tell you anything about the Tokicos, but the Konis are fantastic. I have them on my DD and leave them set soft for Michigan roads, but tighten them up on weekends for some fun. They really iron out the bumps in soft and then make sure you feel when the pavement changes color when set to hard.

Scott, I have KYB inserts as well but on the standard springs. Somehow it just doesn't feel right. Which springs did you mate the inserts with?

i used eibach springs. i got the pro kit at a very reasonable price from importreplacementparts.com and i like how they eliminated the sag of stock springs and gave the car a stance and a bit of rigidity. notice i said a bit, you arent in a rally car and youre not scraping paint stripes either. i like them

if you have the 198_ springs they definantly need replacing. trust me. mine handles great with this setup and i paid just shy of $400 altogether.

I have an 89 NA, KYB GR2 inserts, Eibach Pro Kit lowering 1", Poly bushings everywhere along with Addco 3/4" sway bars front and rear. Still running stock basketweave 14" wheels and tires. While sometimes I swear I can run over a dime and tell you which side was up this car truly handles like a go cart.

poly bushings and sway bars come after a bigger project for me.

back to the post, he should do them first. eibachs are good springs, and i didnt even need a compressor to get them on id say get the ST sway bar front and rear kit from twosrus and get the poly bushings. you will be very happy in the mountains.

by the by, the eiback springs RAISED my car because my old ones had 220k on them. they needed replacing...
